Annually, WTF awards the prestigious Boris Sagal and Bill Foeller Directing Fellowships to two up-and-coming directors, challenging them to create ambitious new work in collaboration with writers, designers and members of the Non-Equity Company.

The 2016 Boris Sagal Fellowship/Drama League Residency is awarded to Pirronne Yousefzadeh (New York Theatre Workshop Usual Suspect) who will be directing Utopia, MN by Meg Miroshnik (The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls) on July 19 and 20.

The Model American

The 2016 Bill Foeller Fellow is Danny Sharron (Co-Artistic Director of NYC-based UglyRhino), who will be directing The Model American, a new play by Jason Kim (HBO’s Girls) on August 15 and 16. Inspired by recent events, The Model American follows the story of Gabriel’s rise to attain the American Dream, and the disparate lives united by a single tragedy that surround his ascent.
