ALBANY / SCHENECTADY / TROY / SARATOGA

Driving time from the Capitol Region is approximately 1 hour – 1 hour 15 minutes.

There are three ways to reach the Williamstown Theatre Festival from New York’s Capitol Region. You should read all three and choose one based on your point of origin.

From Albany proper and points south of the Capitol Region:
Take I-90 to Exit 8 (Route 43, sign marked “Defreestville”). it 8 is approximately 6.5 miles east of Route 87. Follow Route 43 East to Stephentown, NY, where it crosses Route 22. Continue straight on Route 43 for 17.3 miles, until it dead-ends in a “T” at Route 2 in Williamstown. Take a left onto Route 2 West and follow 0.4 miles to WTF. The Theatre will be on your right, just before the junction of Routes 2 & 7.

From Schenectady / Troy:
Follow Route 2 East from Latham all the way to Williamstown, MA (approximately 35 miles). In Williamstown, Route 2 merges with Route 7 for approximately 2.4 miles until you come to a traffic circle (the village green), where the two split. Follow Route 2 East; the Williamstown Theatre Festival will be approximately 100 yards ahead on your left.

From Schenectady / Troy / Saratoga / Lake George:
Take Route 87 to the NY-Route 7 East exit. Follow Route 7 approximately 25 miles through Troy, to North Hoosick, NY. Turn right onto Route 22 South (Stewart’s Shop on the corner as you turn). Follow Route 22 approximately 2.2 miles and turn left onto Route 346. Follow Route 346 approximately 7.2 miles through Pownal, VT. Route 346 ends in a “T” at US-Route 7 (a different Route 7 than the one you were on earlier). Take a right onto Route 7 South and follow approximately 4.2 miles to the junction of Routes 2 & 7. Take a left onto Route 2 East; the Williamstown Theatre Festival will be approximately 100 yards ahead on your left.
