Taiga in the Berkshires

August 12 - August 15 | Main Stage
2018 Season

By Lucy Thurber
Directed by Lee Overtree

Free and Family-Friendly!

In a town in Western Massachusetts, outsiders threaten the safety of Taiga, a beloved ancient monster. Caught between the need to protect what is theirs and the desire to grow and prosper, the people of the town fight to determine their future. This free and family-friendly new play by Lucy Thurber, directed by Lee Overtree, celebrates community and explores what it means to live in the Berkshires — at any age, at any time.

COMMUNITY WORKS is a year-round community-engaged theatre program that brings together local residents and professional theatre artists to make plays for and about the Berkshires.  In the fall, winter, and spring, WTF conducts free acting and playwriting workshops throughout Western Massachusetts.  In the summer, more than 80 Berkshire area residents are featured onstage alongside professional actors in a free, family-friendly world premiere play.  To get involved, click here or email community@wtfestival.org.
